Do You Qualify for 2015 ObamaCare Subsidies?
ObamaCare has two types of subsidies that you can qualify for in 2015: premium and cost-sharing subsidies. Here’s how you qualify for those subsidies.
ObamaCare Premium Subsidies Eligibility
To qualify for ObamaCare premium subsidies (help with your monthly payment) on a Bronze, Silver, Gold, or Platinum plan you must fall between 100-400% of the poverty line. Here is where you income needs to fall to qualify:
- Individual: $11,670 to $46,680
- Family of 4: $23,850 to $95,400
ObamaCare Cost-Sharing Subsidies Eligiblity
To qualify for ObamaCare cost-sharing subsidies (help with your deductibles, copays, and coinsurance) you must fall between 100-250% of the poverty line. Only an ACA Silver plan qualifies for this type of subsidy. Here is where your income needs to fall for qualify:
- Individual: $11,670 to $29,175
- Family of 4: $23,850 to $59,625
Remember that in states that have expanded Medicaid the subsidies start at 138% of the poverty line: $16,105/$32,913 (ind/fam).
