Federal Health Insurance Marketplace Site Delays

The federal Health Insurance Marketplace at Healthcare.gov is experiencing so much traffic that the site is going to a “waiting” page. For those seeking information about the new Affordable Care Act plans: Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum will be intermittently sent to this page: “We have a lot of visitors on our site right now and we’re working to make your experience here better. Please wait here until we send you to the login page.”

You Have Time to Enroll in the New ACA Plans

Remember today’s enrollment date is the government’s deadline, not yours. You are able to enroll until December 15, 2013 for a January 1st start date. As well as there are off-Exchange plans available for those who know they don’t qualify for either the premium subsidies (help with paying your policy payment) or the cost-sharing subsidies (financial help when you seek medical care) or for those who prefer to keep their finances private.

UPDATE: As of 10/1/13 at 5:30 p.m. EST, even if you can get through to your initial state’s page, to set up your account is being bombarded with traffic and you may not be able to set up an account. With a message on Healthcare.gov that says, “Important: Your account couldn’t be created at this time. The system is unavailable.”

Agents can help you figure out what plan is right for you and save you time. Call 800-930-7956 or contact Medicoverage for help with the on and off-Exchange plans.
