August 08, 2013

By Amy De Vore+

When you enroll for ObamaCare affects when your coverage starts. The new Health Insurance Marketplace offers plans by private insurance companies, the plans are known as the new “metal” plans: the ObamaCare Bronze Plan, Silver Plan, Gold Plan, and Platinum Plan. You must be enrolled and have made a payment by the enrollment date to be eligible for the following start dates.

Enroll By Coverage Begins
October 1, 2013 - December 15, 2013 January 1, 2014
December 16, 2013 - January 15, 2014 February 1, 2014
January 16, 2014 -February 15, 2014 March 1, 2014
February 16, 2014 - March 15, 2014 April 1, 2014
March 16, 2014 - March 31, 2014 May 1, 2014

Don’t forget most plans do not include dental. If you want a stand-alone dental plan, there are plans available today in your state with relatively low premiums.

It is important to note that there are plans available for an earlier coverage date through insurance providers now that will be good until the end of 2014. To learn how to sign up for the new Health Insurance Marketplace plans or about plans currently available call 800-930-7956 or contact Medicoverage.

Open enrollment for the ACA plans (ObamaCare) ends March 31, 2014. Applications must be submitted by Dec 23,2013 if you want to start on January 1st. Apply for an ACA Plan Here

MEDICOVERAGE AGENT RESPONSE
Jay,
Thanks for your question. You’ll want to contact your state or county for information about free clinics in your area. We wish you the best of luck with your search.  Remember as of January 1, 2014 you may qualify for subsidies or Medicaid to help with your medical needs.

I tried to pay for my anthem blue cross silver multi state plan by 12/23/2013 as per healthcare.gov and was unable to do so, the system was having technical difficulties and did not recognize my id # please assist.

MEDICOVERAGE AGENT RESPONSE
Stephanie,
CoveredCA is now saying that you must get your first payment in by January 6th to activate your January 1, 2014 plan.

If you have successfully selected a health plan you will receive a paper invoice from Anthem directly.  If you have not received one, you should contact them.  If we are listed as your agent we can look into the case for you and assist you with making a payment with the provider. You can also assign us as your agent to help you with this process.

I’m trying to apply for insurance even though i’m on medicade through S.S.I. for being disabled(failed back surgery, now a broken back which consists of a lot of pain).I don’t want that pain medication,I know what orginazations have been trying to do.With that I need another back surgery so I can get on with my life(over a decade lost with nothing to show).I won’t write anymore so I hope I can get this accomplished on my own.Thank You,Joey M.
