When you enroll for ObamaCare affects when your coverage starts. The new Health Insurance Marketplace offers plans by private insurance companies, the plans are known as the new “metal” plans: the ObamaCare Bronze Plan, Silver Plan, Gold Plan, and Platinum Plan. You must be enrolled and have made a payment by the enrollment date to be eligible for the following start dates.

I have an Account with Nevada’s health link, because my personal Insurance went up 131.00 dollars a month. I’m retired and wish to get insurance with a Nevada plan But won’t let me enroll. Is there a waiting period and if so when is the next enrollment? My insurance goes up in July to 673.00 a month! that’s to much. I factored in 542.00 a month but 673. leaves me no extra money for myself!!!!

Clayton,
Thanks for your question. Unless you have a life-changing event like a divorce, marriage, lose your job, etc, you would have to wait to enroll in an Exchange plan with subsidies until open enrollment which runs November 15, 2014–February 15, 2015. Good news is you may still qualify for an off-Exchange plan outside of the open enrollment. Call 800-930-7956 for further questions.

I tried to pay for my anthem blue cross silver multi state plan by 12/23/2013 as per healthcare.gov and was unable to do so, the system was having technical difficulties and did not recognize my id # please assist.

MEDICOVERAGE AGENT RESPONSE
Stephanie,
CoveredCA is now saying that you must get your first payment in by January 6th to activate your January 1, 2014 plan.

If you have successfully selected a health plan you will receive a paper invoice from Anthem directly.  If you have not received one, you should contact them.  If we are listed as your agent we can look into the case for you and assist you with making a payment with the provider. You can also assign us as your agent to help you with this process.

MEDICOVERAGE AGENT RESPONSE
Jay,
Thanks for your question. You’ll want to contact your state or county for information about free clinics in your area. We wish you the best of luck with your search.  Remember as of January 1, 2014 you may qualify for subsidies or Medicaid to help with your medical needs.
