ObamaCare: Businesses Do Not Have to Offer Insurance Till 2015
The Obama Administration announced July 2, 2013 the employer mandate will be delayed until 2015. The mandate requires employers to either offer minimum benefit coverage to their employees or face a penalty of up to $3,000 per each employee.
Individuals Should do the Following in Order to Avoid ObamaCare Penalties
ObamaCare imposes a penalty of $95 or 1% of an individual’s income. There are a few exemptions to this including financial hardship. Go to our ObamaCare Penalties Overview to learn if you are exempt. The list below discusses the 4 things you can do now to avoid penalties in 2014.
- Stay on their current plan if their plan is grandfathered (issued before March 23, 2010)
- Renew a non-grandfathered plan that allows them to stay on till December 2014
- Purchase a plan now which has a December 2014 end date
- Purchase ObamaCare plans called the Bronze Plan, Silver Plan, Gold Plan, and Platinum Plan
