ObamaCare North Carolina: Only 3 Insurance Providers
The Affordable Care Act begins its Healthcare Exchange on January 1, 2014. In North Carolina there will only be one healthcare provider offering plans for small businesses, and only two or three providers of individual plans. Each of the providers will offer the new “metal” plans known as the Bronze Plan, Silver Plan, Gold Plan, and Platinum Plan.

*It is unclear if Blue Cross Blue Shield will only be offering Health Plans through the small business exchange only or will also offer individual plans.
Future of North Carolina Healthcare Exchange
These three providers have all received federal and state approval for 2014, however in coming years more providers may be approved, therefore expanding the exchange within NC.
