Blue Cross of California announced that its Free Passport Rx Discount Program offers up to 20% savings on both brand and generic drugs. Members who are interested in participating are automatically enrolled in this program that began in 1997.

Blue Cross of California Members simply need to show their Blue Cross card at any participating pharmacy of its 40,000 member national network to receive the discount. Network pharmacies include Wal Mart, Rite Aid, Sav-On Drugs and many other national chains. Also this free program to members has no drug formularies to restrict users.

If Blue Cross members' health plan already includes a prescription drug benefit, the free passport RX Discount Program will automatically kick into action if they meet an annual prescription drug plan maximum or if a prescription is not covered under their benefit.
