Calif. to sue more drug makers for price-gouging Aug 25, 2005

Excerpt: California's attorney general plans on Thursday to add "a significant number of companies" to an earlier lawsuit accusing two major drug makers of overcharging for medicine used to treat the state's indigent patients, a spokeswoman said on Wednesday.

Attorney General Bill Lockyer in 2003 filed a complaint alleging that Abbott Laboratories and Wyeth had overcharged the state's Medicaid program by tens of millions of dollars.


"Tomorrow, we will be adding many others to that complaint," said Teresa Schilling, a spokeswoman for Lockyer's office.
